It was great to award another two first stripes to my students, One to Pete Knight, who has been training with me since the early days of the club and one to Andy Butt. Both guys have shown good development and great support of the club and are a great asset to the team. Well done to both guys!
Huge well done to James Parkin winning Gold in No Gi at the Brighton Open BJJ 24.7 Competition this weekend, Kieron Smith winning Silver in the Gi submitting his opponent via triangle choke and Steven Mulvoy getting a win in the Gi. Great work guys!
We are very pleased to announce we are now an affiliate of Tom Barlow (3x World Champion & 2nd Degree Black Belt) and Chelsea Leah’s (World Champion & 1st Degree Black Belt) Escapology BJJ.
Tom and Chelsea visited our BJJ club in Portsmouth, England earlier this year to deliver two excellent back to back seminars both Gi and No Gi and we were so impressed by their amazing level of knowledge, excellent teaching and seriously high level Jiu-Jitsu, that we decided to affiliate our club with them and learn from them on a regular basis.
We were really pleased to hold our first seminars at our Portsmouth BJJ club recently, inviting Tom Barlow(3X World Champion & 2nd Degree Black Belt from Braulio Estima) and his wife Chelsea Leah (World Champion & 1st Degree Black Belt from Andre Galvao)to teach two seminars, 2 hours in the Gi and 2 hours No Gi, back to back on a sunny saturday afternoon in April.
